Prince William's Royal Wedding Chocolate Biscuit Cake

Here is the recipe being served at the Wedding Breakfast hosted by the Queen in honor of The Royal Wedding of William & Kate.

One of Wils' favorite childhood treats. He requested this cake on this special day.

CHOCOLATE BISCUIT CAKE

Ingredients:
150g unsalted butter
275g golden syrup
400g milk chocolate
250g dark chocolate
200g white chocolate
275g digestives or wine biscuits

Directions:
- In a bowl over simmering water, melt the butter and golden syrup.

- Add in all the chocolate.

- Stir continuously until the chocolate has melted.

- Break the biscuits up and fold them into the mixture.

- Pour the mixture into a lined loaf tin and leave to chill.

I do wish I had planned to watch this wedding better and had some chilled mimosa's ready. The carriage ride is fairytalish. We do miss the charm of a Royal Family here in the US. I love the pomp, honor & charm.
What an absolutely beautiful couple. This a true promise of Hope & Change!
Beautiful Ceremony. May God truly bless their marriage and may it be long and abundantly happy!
She is lovely.
Oh the bridesmaids and maid of honor are beautiful. Can't wait to see Kate.
First glimpse of the bride. She has a long train and her hair is down.
The Queen has arrived. Such pomp & circumstance. Just beautiful. The Queen estimates that she has worn over 5000 hats.
Yellow wins. The Queen is wearing bright yellow. Her subjects are going wild.
Mrs. Middleton looks beautiful. A lovely mother of the bride. They just announced there is betting on the Queen's hat. 7-4 odds it will be yellow. Too funny.

The Royal Wedding

I really had no intention of waking at 4 am to watch Kate & Wils wedding, even though I had watched Diana & Charles years ago. But I woke up at 4 and then again at 4:15 with a strong urge to pray for this young couple.

So, I am up watching and it is a day filled with joy and hope for not just a country but the world. It is a true fairytale story.

The Abbey is beautiful, the weather sunny and Oh the hats!

More later...

The beautiful weather has me in the mood for some grilling. I thought I would share my quick mix steak marinade with you, almost like my daddy used to make. You know I would have to "glori-fy" it up a little. Hope you enjoy!
